NOT STICKING AROUND—End of story for Grand Centrals Posman Books, by Crains Adrianne Pasquarelli: “It’s the end of the story for Posman Books. The independent bookseller, which has become a neighborhood institution during its 15-year run at Grand Central Terminal, will be closing its flagship store there at the end of the year. Dec. 31 will be the retailer’s last day in business, as the Metropolitan Transportation Authority has opted not to renew Posman’s lease, which ran out in September… According to a spokesman for the MTA, the Posman space will be used for improved pedestrian circulation… [T]he move is part of the eventual construction of the 65-story, 1 Vanderbilt office skyscraper, which will rise just west of Posman’s location in the terminal.”
