NOW IF FATHER DO THIS ? Mother kills ailing infant HYDERABAD: Finding no means to bear the treatment expenses of her infant son, a housewife killed him at her house on Monday. The victim was identified as 45-day-old son of Bhaskar and Vijaya from Shalivahana Nagar who run a tea stall near Moosarambagh. Since his birth, the boy was suffering from brain and heart problems and he was shifted to Niloufer hospital. After spending about Rs 75,000 on medical treatment, the couple returned home with the baby five days ago. On Sunday night, there was a heated discussion in the family about the expensive treatment required and their financial condition. At about 2.30 am on Monday, when the others were asleep, Vijaya drowned the baby in a drum, police said. She then screamed saying someone had stolen the baby. After the boy died, Vijaya began screaming for help claiming that an unidentified person entered the house and took away the boy. T The family members rushed to a nearby police picket. One of the cops who rushed to the house noticed the body in the drum. Vijaya confessed to the crime and was taken into custody.
