****NOW ITS PUBLIC**** Throught the year we were told by the principal Mr. Culler that there was no money for the 4th- 6th grade field trips. He told the students that they would have to raise money for the field trip and as my daughter was 1 of the 4 students on the principal advisory council she meet with the principal to come up with ideas on how they can earn the money. They held quite a bit of events and notified the parents that with their donations of 5$ for each event will help to fund the end of the year field trips. The last advisory meeting was held the Thursday prior to the field trip. Well Friday afternoon a fire drill was held but to the students finding it was not a normal fire drill. The students where told if they hear their name they need to stand in a line across from the other students, after all names were called a teacher pointed them out and said "all the kids in the line are not allowed to attend the field trip". The students were then taken to a portable where they were held for 30 min with no indication of why they were there. Following that the students were released to attend yet again another function to raise money for this field trip.... this was just the beginning of everything else that began to unfold...... come to find from the superintendent Dr.Gonzalez the school never needed money for the field trip...... Now the question is where is the money??? Why were our children treated this way??? Why were we asked for our money without being notified of our childrens possibility of not being able to attend???? Why did the principal look my daughter in her face week after week asking for her help but given no reward???
