NOW THAT BEING SILENT IS A CRIME... On 28th day of November, 2014 history was made on OAU campus, Angola hall to be precise. There was a very great project (branded) commissioned by the President of the Great Ife Students Union, in person of Com. Ibikunle Isaac and all others even Com. Oye was not absent. Com. Oye stole the show of the day as his reign of slap-giving and slap-sharing continued. A part one student of the hall fell victim to this slapping spree. Not to drift from the main point, the Angola hall well was re-modified, re-designed and re-configured as tanks were erected and pipes connected with the main objective of providing alternative to students of the hall in times of water scarcity or drought. Last Saturday, Damilola Toblan Dspice wrote; Ibikunles Developmental initiative begins with Angola Hall and Mozambique Hall. Check the site for more details oauifesu/?p=53#. This will liberate us from the shackle of the Management in times of struggles. When they cut the source of water...we can gallantly stay back and poke them! Greatest Ife Ibikunle has started delivering!!! December 8 at 5:40pm · Edited · Public · Options This I called a greek-gift. Im not condemning the initiative behind providing this alternative, but what should be condemned is the post-commissioning duty which has been abandoned by the CEC. I managed to whisper into Oloris ears yesterday that the project isnt functioning which she immediately called others attention to. It has only compounded the woes and hardship in the hall because the well which serves as alternative before now is under lock. Understandable that it is due to the pumping machine placed in it. Here we are again, there is no water on campus, and the alternative has even compounded the hardship on Angolans. Looking at the waterless tanks brings false hope and disappointments. At least, we deserve detailed explanation as regards this false hope (or should I call it a greek gift) Before stepping aside, I swore never to be silent whenever and wherever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. Elie Wiesel
