NTV NEWS UPDATE LWAKATAKA MURDER CHARGES Rally driver Ponsiano Lwakataka has been carted by the police flying squad from Kasese to Masaka following his re-arrest in Kasese after he was granted bail by the court on Wednesday afternoon. Lwakataka, who is battling charges related to illegal fish transactions in Kasese, was rounded up by security operatives led by the Rakai Officer in Charge, Taban Kirigga. Lwakataka was moved under the close watch of security operatives from Kasese to Masaka Central Police Station. According to Kirigga, Lwakataka faces murder charges, assault and defamation among the several offences lined up against him. Lwakataka is implicated in the murder of Pastor Mugambe alongside eight other family members in Kyebe, Rakai district on January 15th, 2013, a murder which shocked the nation. Police have arrested and remanded another six suspects in connection with the murder. Kiriga says Lwakataka will appear before the magistrates court in Rakai where he committed the offenses.
