Aspects of Outdoor TRAINING FOR TRAINERS 6. - 16.10. 2013 Metsäkartano Youth and Wilderness Centre, Rautavaara, Finland 1. Brief description of the project: Aspects of outdoor, is a 10 day training for 20+ aged trainers who are working with youth or youth work training and using outdoors in their work. Training will give to participants new aspect of outdoor pedagogies (outdoor and adventure education and experiential learning) through personal experience. Training will be organized in co-operation with 4 organization: C?OD - Center ?olskih in ob?olskih dejavnosti from Slovenia, Élményakadémiá from Hungary, CEMEA from France and Youth Centre Metsäkartano from Finland. 1.1 Aims: - Improve outdoor trainers personal skills (soft, hard and meta) - Gain theoretical background and methods used in outdoor pedagogies - Get personal experience in Finnish wilderness through different outdoor activities 1.2 Working methods: A common thread throughout training are ?outdoor pedagogies? (outdoor- and adventure education and experiential learning). These pedagogies are implemented using personal experience, lectures, activities and workshops in reflective approach. 1.3 Tools: - personal experience - activities: wilderness expedition(s), solo, climbing, canoeing, biking, wilderness skills, handicrafts and environmental education... - lectures - reflection methods - case studies and simulations 2.1 PARTICIPANTS: Age 20+ Youth / social workers, Instructors, Trainers, Teachers (non-formal & formal education) or other pedagogical background Participants are strongly engouraged to have at a basic level of understanding of outdoor / adventure education and some experience instructing / leading / facilitating groups to ensure a full benefit from the course. 6 participants / country 6 places for finnish participants, you can apply: tanja.liimatainen@metsakartano
