NYDA spent R20m on music equipments and for Dj Oskido and Greg Maloka and my worry is NYDA has failed to create skills development and employment opportunities but they can spend such money on useless asserts which cannot help decrease the unemployment rate. It is time as young people to march against NYDA and also to call for the establishment of Youth Ministry which should be represented by all youth formations and not only by the maority of ANCYL and YCL and the disbandment for this uselss NYDA. The Youth Ministry should be an independant board away from political parties so that there can be accountability. The NPO I run, Infusion Foundation has done a lot to provide skills development an business development and job opportunities without any funding, grant and donation and we have a record to show that. If that R20m were distributed amongst NPOs that are doing what the NYDA is failing to do would have been something. I believe the South African Youth Council will do somethng than just being another useless structure to eat money. As we are faced with so much unemployment problems among the youth, it is unacceptable for NYDA to spend such amount. I call upon every structure for youth in our society to develop a petition to call for the investigation of the NYDA funds, how they use them and who has benefited and if the beneficiaries are the deserving ones than friends of the NYDA officials.
