Nadal goes into the ATP World Tour Finals as the top seed after - TopicsExpress

Nadal goes into the ATP World Tour Finals as the top seed after enjoying a remarkable comeback season. After missing the second half of last year and the Australian Open in January, Nadal has made a spectacular return to the circuit. By the end of the US Open he had reached the final of every tournament he had played, with the exception of Wimbledon, where he suffered a shocking first-round loss. He took his obligatory victory at the French Open, his eight wins at Roland Garros matching the mens record for number of titles won at a single grand slam, by which time he had also won three Masters 1000 events. Two more Masters titles followed at the Rogers Cup and Western & Southern Open, before he saw off Novak Djokovic in a memorable final at the US Open. However, the Spaniard has always seemed slightly vulnerable at the end of the season and his form has once again tailed off this year. He was beaten by Djokovic in Beijing and Juan Martin del Potro at the Shanghai Masters and heads to London having never won a year-end title before. Clay-court tennis is Nadals bread and butter but his forehand is just as potent whatever the surface and he is able to adapt the rest of his game to quicker conditions.
