Nagpapasalamat ako sa ADRA kasi meron na kaming bagong tirahan, at meron pa kaming maayos na palikuran. (I thank ADRA because we now have a new house and a decent toilet.) Elisa Tocong, 51, and her only daughter, 24, will no longer have to worry about possible intruders at night. She feels safer now that they can stay in their newly built transitional shelter. Also, she will no longer have to walk several meters to the nearest neighbor just to use the toilet. For the first time, she can be queen in her own comfort room (complete with a ceramic toilet bowl), which was also constructed by ADRA. Elisa is one of the more than 100 families being helped by ADRA in terms of shelter rehabilitation post-Yolanda. This project is made possible by international cooperation, with ADRA Czech Republic and the Czech Republic Humanitarian Aid as the lead donors, and with the support of ADRA Norway and ADRA United Kingdom. ADRA Philippines is in the frontline towards creating disaster-resilient communities and families in the country.
