Nandi county Governor Dr. Cleophas Lagat has finally rescinded his support for Pesa Mashinani. Speaking at a fundraiser held in Ndalat in Mosop constituency of Nandi county, the Governor claimed that he made the decision to abandon calls for Pesa Mashinani push citing the engagement of other avenues in addressing the issue. This however, is a big blow to the council of Governors push for Pesa Mashinani spear headed by Isaac Ruto who is the Councils chair. This comes at a time that Nandi County witnessed violence that erupted in a URP meeting that was attended by Nandi Senator Stephen Sang, MP Mosop Kirwa Bitok, MP Aldai Hon Serem, County MP Zipporah Kering and MP Chesumei Elijah Lagat. The violence left Nandi County chief of Staff Timon Kosgei with injuries which saw him hospitalised at Nairobi hospital.
