National conscience demands complete boycott of Indian elections: HCJK Arrest of pro-freedom leaders frustration of Govt: Spokesperson Srinagar, Oct 31: Expressing serious concern over the fresh arrest spree launched by government against pro-freedom leaders, Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir spokesperson in a statement issued to press said the reality is that government has acknowledged its defeat even before the so-called elections. The spokesperson has severely condemned the arrest of HCJK leader Shabir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Moulana Muhammad Abdullah Taari, Muhammad Yusuf Naqash, Shabir Ahmad Dar, Ayaz Akbar, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Ghulam Rasool Eidhi, Zafar Akbar Bhat, Sirajuddin Dawood, Muhammad Rafiq War, Gulzar Ahmad Bhat, Nazir Ahmad Dar and dozens of other pro-freedom leaders and activists. The spokesperson made it clear to people that to safeguard the precious sacrifices they have rendered in their fight against Indian forcible rule, it is imperative to boycott the upcoming elections in letter and spirit. He said that to vote those who murdered our children and youth and our leaders like Shaheed Muhammad Maqbool Bhat and Shaheed Muhammad Afzal Guru, is a big treachery to the mission of martyrs. HCJK spokesperson said that Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir is a political platform which believes in propagating its viewpoint to masses in a peaceful manner but the so-called administration by resorting to their traditional measures prevents the leaders from meeting the people. “On one hand, they beat the drums of so-called democracy and on other, arrest its political opponents.” “These arrests made it clear that India and its puppets lack the potential to compete with resistance leadership on a political platform that is why they put these leaders behind bars. It seems they have declared a war against pro-freedom camp,” he said. He said that to force people to vote in a democratic set-up itself negates the very essence of democracy. “The reality is that the people of Kashmir never acknowledged these sham Indian elections but are demanding their right of self determination and Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir leadership will continue to take the freedom movement to its logical conclusion,” the spokesperson added.
