I will be giving presentations and leading field trips. Come experience the magic of the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds as they stage (gather in numbers) in preparation for migration. rockporthummingbird/index.php/2012-celebration-info.html Hawk Migration near Corpus Christi, TX This site has the largest number of Hawks in fall migration of any site in the United States ! Some days there may only be a few thousand that pass overhead and on great days there can be 50,000 hawks in a day! Typically 15 species of raptors are seen but 19 have been recorded in a day. Of course we will look for some of the resident shorebirds, green jays, great kiskadee, possibly green kingfisher, and grooved-bill ani as well as several species of shorebirds, fall migrant warblers, and many others. Two Tours Sept. 28-29. And Oct 05-06. These are prime weekends for the migration. Saturday morning depart Houston around 6:30 am. by way of a van. We will spend Saturday night in a hotel. Return Sunday afternoon around 4:00 pm. Fee for this tour is $365 per person. This includes ground transportation, hotel room for one night, continental breakfast Sunday morning, guiding services. Minimum of 3 people required for this trip.
