With the Koch brothers and their affiliated special interest groups collecting hundreds of millions of dollars, we knew we’d be gearing up for a showdown. But now we’re their number one target. I think it’s pretty clear that the time for “gearing up” is over. Election year has arrived-- and every dollar we raise from here on is essential to fight back against the special interest groups. Hitting this $70,000 January goal is the first step in fighting back against the special interests in the new year. Can you give $5 or more to help? As for who wins number one in attacking us, that honor goes to the Koch brothers and their group Americans for Prosperity. The Koch brothers alone have already poured more than $6 million into North Carolina. And it’s important to remember that when they attack, they’re not just attacking me -- they’re attacking the values we share. There are things in this election we’re all working for -- protecting Medicare, ensuring women have access to the health care they need, creating jobs and growing our economy. The Koch brothers probably don’t care about any of that. They see my work for North Carolina and they know Ill never push their agenda. But my opponents share their out of touch priorities, so they want to buy this race to get a Senator who will work for them. But we’re not going to let them buy our race.
