Need some help/ideas on the auction: Ok here’s the issue and question on this one. Mark has been really sick the last few weeks and I have been fishing the tournaments, so things have not come together as we had planned. The auction was going to be on June 22nd but with my actions from this last week, and various other “hurdles” we have encountered, this an unreasonable timeframe. My question is this: Do you all, or would you all, support us doing the auction online with the items we have put (and continue to get/ask for) together, or does anyone have a better suggestion as to how to make this as successful as possible? We have a number of things to put up (with a HUGE thank you to Tony Posey, Casey Martin, Pour House Custom Baits, for their donations, and please I am still looking for things if you are interested in helping) and each item will be listed with the donor’ name, so you know where they came from and, as a “thank you” from me to them. I will say that these will all be reasonably priced starting bids, as we have not gotten any "big ticket" items (like the guided trips last time) to date, but that is always subject to change :). Most items are baits of various kinds (Crank and soft plastics), rolls of braid, autographed hats, fishing DVD’s, fishing game or two, reels, and some other items I know are being sent from California that I have coming from a friend (he just always surprises me, so I can’t give all the specifics..lol). I would like to garner the best/largest participation possible, so I need some guidance from some of you who I am SURE know much more about these kinds of things than I do. We are holding off on a specific date at this point, but it will hopefully be in July sometime, to try and get this put together as professionally as possible and get the best possible participation we can. Please reply with any useful ideas you may have as this is really out of my realm of experience and I could surely use some good ideas on how best to pull this off successfully. Thank you all ahead of time for your help, support and ideas once again in keeping the “Dream” alive for hopefully another year to come!!
