Needing prayers, strength. For the last month we hoped Wes was - TopicsExpress

Needing prayers, strength. For the last month we hoped Wes was just fried from the flu, which then became an acute sinus infection. Then our poor guy fell and hurt his back right before the trip to see my family so he couldnt handle the 500+miles in the car. It hurts so much that he couldnt visit his brother at college who hasnt seen him since a week before the surgery, and that my parents, siblings, and his cousins also did not get to hug him after all he is going through. Medication and rest arent making enough of a difference in his fatigue and other symptoms. The possibility of something new, or complications are there. Dr Kim ordered a CT but both hospitals held it up for 3 days. So frustrated that its not bureaucracy holding it up, but when its not your own relative or friend its not a priority regardless of what the Dr orders. We finally got it done at 7 p.m. last night after more than 20 phone calls on my end. I truly felt like a huge bear with the biggest teeth you can imagine. I thank God every day for the staff at MHMC in Texas. On top of that we are being once again told that in so many words we have to prove that he is not sick enough to stay home. The very idea that we have to continue to to battle for basic living-for the ability to be medically cared for, and to be allowed the much needed recovery time sickens me. We all know that if Wes had this surgery and it was malignant everyone would do what was right. Somehow, there is this expectation that he can simply be 100 % immediately, that having his brain operated on is likened to a sprained wrist. Say a prayer for good results, strength for his continued healing, and chocolate so we dont go crazy. Love you all...
