Negligence at a Nursing Home: #1. A Nurse Aide wrapped a pair of hearing aids in a paper towel before giving resident their shower. Never to be found again..... Value: over $4000 #2. Took ALL the residents belongings (including this residents wig) and washed/sterilized everything. (Wig is totally ruined) Value: $60-$100 Now, this resident has lost the ability of speech due to a stroke and lost her hair to cancer.. Add these two cases of negligence, and now has even more difficulty with communication because, at least with the hearing aids, she could hear and give some sort of response and her dignity is lost because she has no wig now. SOME people who go into these professions that deal with caring for others loved ones, need to keep in mind that, it could be THEIR loved one relying/trusting in someone else caring for them. This is uncalled for..... Who is responsible? Someone needs to replace what was lost. Take responsibility and do the right thing!!!! These residents are NOT just a number or cash cow...... They need and DESERVE to be treated with utmost RESPECT at ALL times....
