Neighborhood Revitalization Citizens Academy Next Week Join The Big Picture next Tuesday, October 14 at 6PM for the Citizens Academy on Neighborhood Revitalization. It will be held at the Knight Center (pictured) on the campus of Alabama A&M University. The event will be hosted by Alabama A&M University and the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. Houses age. Shops close. Parking lots empty. Many neighborhoods experience this up-and-down cycle. Yet, there are tools a community can utilize to help reverse and mitigate these trends, strategies that can promote reinvestment, and ways to create public and private partnerships that encourage new and better development. While any neighborhood may experience a downturn, every neighborhood can take steps towards revitalization. Youll hear talk about why disinvestment occurs, how redevelopment works, and what a community can do to set itself up for the future. Hope to see you there!
