Neil DeGrasse Tyson weighing in on GMOs- kind of. I think there are concerns. I dont like eating poison, and Im sure Round-Up sprayed fields are not being thoroughly cleaned of all vestige of that. I also take issue with corporate monopolistic control of global food supply - recipe for disaster. I also am concerned with our well-documented loss of biodiversity in agriculture. So many important heirloom plants being lost! And our reliance on corn and soy and all the products derived from them has had a massive consequence on American health, especially in our obesity rates as these ingredient derivatives keep sneaking into our food to the tune of 700+ calories per day per American, that we dont even realize we are ingesting. Im also appalled by the patenting, and the court supported lawsuits driving small quality farms out of business because, you know, plants pollenate and seed and grow and Monsanto has millions to throw at grinding farmers under. My suggestion- buy local. Buy in season. Grow what you can yourself. Find ethical, naturally fed, humanely raised meat sources. And that way, you can take a swing at Monsanto AND big oil, and improve your health, too. One little step- shop local- helps your family health AND gives a boost to your local economy, because those farmers get way more money from local sales than the ones that have to sell to food industry giants, who see only nickels of each of those dollars. And if you really feel strongly about it, lets figure out how to challenge Monsantos court supported stranglehold on our farmers. - JCo https://m.facebook/story.php?story_fbid=10101229567713438&id=19701690
