Nepal increases petrol price to NPR130 yesterday from the previous NPR123. Nepal has the highest petroleum increase this September 2013 among South Asian countries at 5.7%. Nepal has also the highest price of petrol at $1.24 or NPR130. The increase of petrol price in India (as triggered by its currency downward trend against the US Dollar), has triggered price increases in Nepal, Pakistan and Bhutan. India imports 80% of its petroleum requirements from the Middle east and other South Asian countries including Nepal imports petrol from India.
