Never fall in love with an activist. He will devote half of his life to the masses. He will stay awake at them ungodly hours of the night to be armed and ready for the next damned mob. He will attend various forums, discussions - whichever you may call it - one after another. He will draw his life into the image of our militants today. He will go to measures unknown to you, just to assert that advocacy of his. You will have to make smart use of his time thats left for you. He would still have academics, family affairs, and personal well-being all left on his plate. But he will stand firm in his decisions. He will neither be dissuaded nor discouraged. He will sacrifice a lot and he will have a hard time. Correction, you will both have a hard time. You will have to share with the marginalized, the peasants, the indigenous. But his principles are what keeps him alive and burning with passion; the same passion that he will use to pull you deeper. The same burning passion that lits up his eyes and nourishes his heart, mind, and soul. The same infinite passion that will feed your hunger for real conversations and will make you realize how much you have been missing out in life. He will nevertheless treat you with respect, compassion, sympathy and generosity, just as he always would with every being he meets. He will leave a goddamned mark on you. You will never forget the day he made your heart odd, because it cannot even. You will never forget how he would always gleam with pride and joy, no matter how demanding his life may be. You will never forget the day you would finally understand why he has always chosen the road less traveled, and the very reason you will realize he is fit only for his kind; the very reason you will finally accept the undeniable fact, from the very beginning, that parallel lines born out of parallel points will never meet, at least in this particular dimension.
