Joe, walking wounded; fine’ly showing his pain in that tunnel from field to the locker room; yet still looking mad after kicking ass (I couldn’t ‘member nobody being mad after kicking somebody ass, ‘cept Joe. Guess thass why he was “Mean Joe,” huh? Yeh, guess that’s why fa sho). Anyway, I shoulda been that kid, man – skinny and ashy and black and a lil mean myself. Not that short, little white kid looking all nervous, and talking all shy, asking if Mean Joe Greene wanted a coke! If it was me, I woulda talked to Joe more “mean.” “Ay yo, Joe. Why don’t you take this here Coke! It’s the best Coke you’ll ever have in life!” And then, Mean Joe Greene woulda shown sum’ new.
