New Democracy Single issue groups thrive with large membership, - TopicsExpress

New Democracy Single issue groups thrive with large membership, but, old political partys lose membership and support. So what about a political system based on single & related issues so they get properly debated. Now, if you vote for any political party, you have to accept predetermined collection of issues, some issues you may support but others you may hate; not a very satisfactory democratic situation. We are supposed to have a Representative Democracy, but this is obviously untrue . No party represents your individual views in their entirety, perhaps not all . What we need is a participatory democracy or a political system based on single issues. This is what Im proposing. Each issue would be represented by part time 2 MPs, one for, & one against; discussing and opposing issues in a national forum in a balanced way. These two MPs are for each constituency, for each issue, making up parliaments for each issue. Every constituency will have Part Time MPs for every issue. This spreads democracy down to grass roots & you see exactly what you are voting for. How will this be launched?. Existing single issue groups would be able to submit candidates. Single Issue Groups would have the advantage of experience gained through years of activity to apply to competent government. There will inevitably be opposition candidates for each issue who may form national groups restricted to single issues only. But NO political partys, and I suggest existing political parties be banned as they shown to ineffective and sometimes corrupted by corporate lobbying etc. I would envisage a separate vote for the best management group of govt. separate from issues, not a political party with their dogma and associated disadvantages. This group would be impartial and oversee overall co-ordination of processes of government and carry out directives of the single issue groups (with their support and who obtained an electoral mandate for their policies). If the management group fails in their tasks, they will voted out. How would this be brought into existence? I suggest forming a political party (in the present political circumstances) called the NewDemocrats. This party would have a suicide clause which, having maybe, won sufficient electoral support to bring such a dramatic change would, with other parties, cease to exist.
