New Job Technical Trainer (Engineering) - PTR14/706 Industry: Science and Research Job Type: Permanent Location: Staffordshire, England Salary: £30000 - £35000 per annum + benefits Our client are renowned as global market leaders in the manufacture and supply of special purpose laboratory products and are committed to the highest levels of product quality and customer satisfaction, and as a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Technical Trainer to complement their established and successful team. Reporting to the Service Manager, the successful candidate will be an experienced hands on engineer capable of undertaking preventative maintenance and repair work with the confident and effective communication skills required to provide training to others to complete these tasks across a broad spectrum of scientific products at customer sites around the world, and will be responsible for the design, development, arrangement and delivery of hardware and software training course materials, service manuals and visual presentations for the clients worldwide distribution channels. With training sessions involving certification for service engineers and technicians that will allow them to competently investigate problems, repair faults, and both test and calibrate the companys product ranges, you will demonstrate proven previous success in the delivery of training to non-native English speaking engineers and of having organised, scheduled and evaluated delegates during on-site courses in the UK/US or for other locations around the world, with the ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally an essential requirement for the role. You will develop and maintain a network of qualified service providers and ensure that levels of training, reporting are assessed, and will work closely with the New Product Development team to critically assess projects for reliability and serviceability during the design phase and ensuring that training is available for product launches. You will additionally work with service centres to remotely resolve technical issues and queries so previous experience in the repair, service and calibration of various items of equipment including reaction stations, photo spectrometers, hot plate stirrers, water stills, ovens, heater, rocker and mixer units is essential for the position. To be considered for this varied and technically challenging role offering extensive international travel, it is envisaged the successful candidate will demonstrate previous field service engineering and training experience within a customer focused environment, along with previous experience of the creation and delivery of hardware and software technical training courses for Non-English Audiences. You will be skilled in the use of the MS Office suite and in the use of remote location communications. Essentially you will be skilled in presenting at all levels and working with precision equipment including the ability to fault find and repair bench top equipment.
