New York State Fair attendance still nearly 5,000 ahead of last year’s pace GEDDES, N.Y. — Attendance continued to soar Sunday at the New York State Fair. Officials said 83,438 people passed through the state fair’s turnstiles on Sunday, 381 more people than last year. In 2013, 83,057 attended the state fair on the fourth day. Sunday’s attendance marked highest first-Sunday attendance in the last five years and the third highest in the last 10 years. “Absolutely perfect fair weather brought crowds out for a day in the sun,” fair spokesman Dave Bullard said in an email. So far this year, 4,920 more people have attended the first four days of the fair than during the same time period last year.
