New York!!! Tonight is the opening for Transformational Imagemaking at The Center for Photographic Arts (CEPA) in Buffalo NY. A show based on a new book by the same title, that focuses on 40 photographers that have transformed photography over the last 50 years. And with a quote like ONE OF THE MOST SIGNIFICANT EXHIBITIONS IN CEPAs 40YR HISTORY: from CEPA, I think it should be an amazing exhibit! I will be showing with some of my favorite photographers like, Vik Muniz, Les Krims, Mike & Doug Starn, Joel-Peter Witkin, Curtis Mann and others in this epic show. The attached video is of the Untouchable project that i installed at CEPA for the exhibit. A little about the Untouchable project... The project is based around a handmade camera (spinning in the video) that contains HIV+ blood, that pumps in front of the pinhole lens that all of the photos are shot through. With this camera I photography people from different walks of life, all over the globe, living with HIV. One of the main functions of the project is to study how people see each other and why people create fictitious us and thems. Opening reception Friday, September 19th from 7pm-10pm The show will run till the end of November.
