New Yorkers are a passionate people. We live hard, we love hard, we party and play hard, and we lose hard... If you are a lover of New York, if you grew up here... You know what I mean. The military robbed me of a lot of my New York upbringing, as I moved here when I was 8, but I still identify, thanks to my wonderful relationship with my grandparents, and hell... Great grandparents. I learned a lot about my roots just from simple conversation. If you are nostalgic, at all, I truly recommend, Billy Crystals 700 Sundays. Not only does it strike to the heart of what it means to be a New Yorker, it shows that whether you are a Guido, Jew, Pole, Kraut, Mick, or Malenzone, we all came up together. We covet the same things. We respect the same things. We all remember the same things. New York alone is the worlds melting pot. Nobody does it like New York. Ask anybody. Billy Crystal, Eddie Murphy, my Cousin Gary DeLena, (though he is all New Jersey now...I forgive him) Comedians tell it like it is, without the morose horse shit that we can all live without!Trust me! 700 Sundays will make you long for yesteryears. It will make you laugh, it will make even the tough guys tear up, it will make you fall in love with New York and its people, all over again!
