New for SolidCAM... Before getting into some new recordings for iMachining, lets first take a look at the SolidCAM Professor videos series called Jumpstart - the easy way to learn SolidCAM. In this series, the programming of a simple cover is performed step by step using some of SolidCAMs 2.5D Milling technologies. For the fourth step, a Profile operation is added to the CAM-Part. The geometry is selected as a chain that runs along the outside contour of the Target model. A 6 mm (0.25 in) end mill is defined for the operation. The tool is set to perform an Arc Lead in/out and climb cut at a Constant depth. After the full profile depth is reached, the tool will remove the 0.24 mm (0.01 in) allowance with a single finish pass.
