New great review from Mrs S A Campbell: My old ACER desktop PC - TopicsExpress

New great review from Mrs S A Campbell: My old ACER desktop PC behaved as if the battery that retains the CMOS settings was failing. I opened up my PC realised this was not a simple battery replacement - the battery was in a yellow plastic shrinkwrapping with attached connectors and it was quite a confined space to work in. I described the problem to Michael over the phone. He agreed with my diagnosis and we agreed a price. He came over had a look. He found Acer no longer provide the replacement part so obtained the necessary battery and prepared to deal with the connectors. He came back to install the battery and discovered the replacement battery was faulty, providing less voltage than the one he was replacing. He went and bought another battery, came back and installed that, taping it temporarily as he had another appointment to go to. He then came back and did the soldering. So 3 visits all for the price originally agreed. Bargain, particularly if my PC lasts another 6 years.
