New-look Altrincham town centre on the cards – and you get a say in what it looks like Businesses and residents are being asked how they want Altrincham town centre to look as part of a 15-year regeneration plan, after figures revealed a quarter of shops stand empty. The Business Neighbourhood Plan will run until 2030 and will shape how land is used and where private and public cash is targeted. What residents and businesses say as part of a public consultation will form the blueprint for the future of Altrincham town centre. Once opinions are in, the plan will influence the policies that will determine the size and design of future builds and public spaces. People’s thoughts are being gathered online through a questionnaire, as well as in the town centre itself. 28.5% Shops empty in Altrincham After the different stages of the consultation process, residents and businesses will be given the opportunity to vote for or against the plan. If they vote for it, Trafford council must adopt the plan and use it as the basis for all their town centre planning decisions from 2015 up until 2030.
