IS IT A WASTED OR A WASTING AWAY GENERATION? When I look at the behaviours, dressing patern, inteligent qoutents and futural expectations of our nowadays boys and girls.I feel bad and uncomfortable. Both boys and girls are no different in all aspects of life. On education , instead to study hard to achieve their academic laurels, they will not study but only to threaten their lecturers with death if he dare fail them . Cultism and ariso are the other of the day in higher Institutions. In those good days , a University student would read like mad and extensively to pass an examination. But now days , their knoweledge is narrowed to the so called hands out by the crops of lazy lectueres of today. No undergraduate would walk side by side in the corridors with a Professor. When a Professor was approaching, you would change your route unconsciously. Dressing, they would expose their undies in the name of swaggering. Honestly, prisoners are the ones swaggering in overseas e g Britain and USA. Authority would collect their band belts for security reasons so this will make their trousers to drop. But in Nigeria today ,it is fashion to our indisciplined youths. Whenever I come across such boys and girls in this way, I feel that their parents are not better off. See how our Secondary School boys penciled their trousers and their school Principals would look the other way. Parents who are not disciplined will find it very difficult to impact discipline into the lives of their children,because you cannot give what you do not possess. I see those boys and girls tatooing their body, boys piercimng their hears, girls exposing their breasts as waste away generation. Ask a University undergraduate or graduate to speak or write grammar, you will block your hears to save your heardrums. I was in Abuja sometime in July this year and a friend asked me to join the panel that wanted to conduct interview for job seekers. My brother, I almost shed tears, seeing the extent of damages the so called hands out had done to our education. If I were the Minister for Education, I would ban handsout in our tertiary Institutions. Can you compare University graduates of those days with what we have these days? It is like a Pry Six Leaving Certificate ( like myself ) standing before a Professor talking about education . Money aspect, thse young generation of our time love money so much that they do all sorts of satanic and evil things just to get money,eg ritualism,yahoo plus,419ning, robbery, prostitution and what have you, to get money . Is this a wasting away generation or a wasted generation?
