New performance video from one of the songs off All You Can Do. In 1993 a young couple— Admira, a Muslim, and Boško, an Orthodox Christian— were shot trying to flee Sarajevo during the Bosnian civil war. He was killed instantly. She crawled to him and lived for 15 minutes before dying in his arms. I wanted to write this song partly because my mom comes from a Christian family while my dad is Jewish, and my great grandparents on his side fled Polish Russia to escape religious persecution. Decades and even centuries pass and we are still killing each other under the guise of religious devotion, despite the fact that the core teachings of each of these faiths directly contradict that violence. I offer no solutions, but I found their story extremely moving.
