Newcastle United have completed the transfer of Facundo Ferreyra from Shakhtar Donetsk on a season-long loan, their seventh signing of the summer. Ferreyra, 23, is striker who scored six times in Europe for Shakhtar and his loan to St James’ Park includes an option to buy at the end of the 2014/15 season. He has joined his new Newcastle team-mates in Germany as they take part in this weekends Schalke 04 Cup. This is a player who has played at the top level and is highly regarded in Argentina Alan Pardew One Newcastle team-mate in particular, captain Fabricio Coloccini, who is a compatriot and friend, helped to persuade Ferreyra to come to the club. Newcastle manager Alan Pardew, who adds the striker to a raft of summer signings including midfielder Jack Colback, strikers Ayoze Perez and Emmanuel Riviere, attacking midfielders De Jong and Remy Cabella and defender Daryl Janmaat, was happy to add to his attack. Facundo is someone we know on a number of levels, including his friendship with Fabricio and we think he could be a big success here at Newcastle,” the Newcastle United manager.
