News From The Brewery - Mountain Sun Pubs & Breweries Stout Month 2015 Homebrew Competition (Sorry, professionally experienced brewers excluded) The Mountain Sun Brewery Team is getting ready for Stout Month 2015. We are calling on you, the local homebrewers, to come up with a brand new recipe to help us pay homage to this diverse and classic style! The winning brewer will have the opportunity to a join a Mountain Sun Brewer and brew a six-barrel batch of his or her brew at the Mountain Sun Brewery. This beer will accompany our line up of original and guest stouts during February’s Stout Month 2015. The winning brewer will also receive a fifty-dollar Stout Month bar tab! Rules: 1) The beer must be a Stout in appearance and flavor profile. 2) Please keep the beer at 8.0% ABV or under, as we already have a large selection of imperials. 3) All entries must be delivered to the Southern Sun Pub or Vine Street Pub on Sunday, January 4th from 11:00 AM-3:00 PM. We will not accept entries delivered to our other locations! 4) For each entry, the equivalent of three 12 oz. bottles are required. Each bottle should be clearly marked and each entry must include a Stout Month 2015 entry form*. 5) Participants must have no professional brewing experience. 6) In the interest of fairness, we will not be able to honor requests to use our house yeast. 7) All winning recipes will be considered Mountain Sun recipes, and may or may not be brewed at any of our three brewery locations in the future. 8) Please put all entries in a six-pack holder. A plastic bag or loose bottles with a rubber band are not acceptable. We want your beer to make it to the judging!
