News Top Stories The Heidi Search Center: Keeping the search for missing people alive in San Antonio James Munoz / KENS 5 Fri, 24 Jan 2014 17:48:34 CST SAN ANTONIO-- Local law enforcement officers receive many reports for missing people each month, but its The Heidi Search Center in San Antonio that works to keep those cases alive. Keep them alive and keep the media, family members and the community aware that there are people in this community still missing, Crystal Calloway, executive director of The Heidi Search Center, said. The organization is named after Heidi Seaman, a young woman who went missing in 1990. Her body was found two weeks later, but the person responsible for her death has never been identified. This man or woman is still out there, Calloway told KENS 5. We have a motto here: What started in tragedy continues in hope. (Seamans parents) hope that no other family members have to go through what they went through at the time of their daughters disappearance. When asked about the 60 open cases the center follows, Calloway mentioned two other high-profile missing persons: Joshua Davis and Carmen Mares. Davis went missing from his parents home in New Braunfels nearly three years ago; his parents believe he was kidnapped. The Davis family continues to work closely with The Heidi Search Center to keep Davis case in the public eye. Mares went missing in 2007. The 35-year-old mother of two was last seen at a bar on N. Zarzamora Street and W. Woodlawn Avenue. The Heidi Search Center recently released an age-progression photo of Mares.
