Next Thursday, December 11, 8 p.m., TCM (Turner Classic Movies) is airing The Shop Around the Corner. (1940 Black & White/James Stewart) If you liked the chick flick Youve Got Mail (Meg Ryan/Tom Hanks) you will like this! Youve Got Mail (as in email) is a take off of The Little Shop Around the Corner. Of course, in the 1940s there was no internet. The main characters communicate vie post office boxes! This movie is a must-see on my Christmas viewing list ~ right up there with Its a Wonderful Life. It is an old-fashioned, down-to-earth movie. If you watch it, post your opinion.
