Next athlete we profile today will be Toea Wisil from Papua New Guinea. 100 metres / 200 metres Federation: Papua New Guinea Age: 26 Personal Best 100 metres - 11.41 6 April 2013 – Melbourne – Australian Nationals Season Best: 100 metres: 11.46 - 15 March 2014, Sydney - Sydney Track Classic Toea Wisil has been the strongest female sprinter in the Pacific for several years now with many impressive performances. Most memorable was her performance at the London Olympics where she qualified for the first round by finishing in 1st place with a time of 11.60, from there Toea ran 11.27 with a +2.2 tailwind for the next round but missed out on progressing. Since then Toea has participated in several other international completions. Toea won Gold in the 100m, 200m, 4x100m and 4x400m at the Pacific Mini Games in Wallis and Futuna in 2013. Toea is the current Papua New Guinea 200 metre record holder. Toea Wisil is on an IAAF Scholarship and trains at the Oceania, IAAF High Performance Centre on the Gold Coast. Toea will leave Rarotonga to prepare for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
