Next step for the country: Universal Tertiary Education (By TTnewsflash Reporter) MINISTER of Tertiary Education and Skills Training, Fazal Karim said the country should be moving towards Universal Tertiary Education. He said his ministry has already accomplished Universal Pre-school and Primary education and is moving towards Universal Secondary education. The minister announced that the government of Trinidad and Tobago is in the process of creating more Education Cities throughout Trinidad and Tobago. Karim also stated that schools in the St. Augustine area have received more than half a billion dollars via taxes and the GATE program in the last two years. During the Launch of the Hop-A-Bus initiative held at the PTSC terminal, Minister Karim said the program will have the capacity to take people to the various places of interest and will ensure that citizens can move from place to place easily.
