Nicaragua has been amazing so far!! We got here early so we got to spend on night in Granada before coming to Limon dos and working with FIMRC in Las Salinas! Saturday and Sunday we had some short orientations but got to spend most of our free time relaxing and swimming at the beach which has huge waves! I even got to ride a horse around Limon Dos and onto the beach during sunset! Monday was our first official day of work where we learned so much about FIMRC and specifics about the Nicaragua site and community. Then we went to a natural healer who gave us all a quick look at and diagnosed us. Today was our first day going into the community. Diabetes is a very big problem in this area of Nicaragua so this morning I went out with the Field Manager Jessica and a few of RWUs FIMRC Chapter to home visits. We tested the locals who have diabetes to see what the blood sugar was and gave them a quick charla (talk) about diabetes and different facts on them. Then this afternoon we helped with the pediatrician who comes in twice a week to the FIMRC site by taking vitals, doing developmental tests, and playing with kids. Its been such a great few days cant wait for the next ones!
