Nice one Creative Scotland. Make sure everyone gets a wee bit from the pot except young people. Typical boomer disregard for the next generation, disappointing doesnt even cover it. Scottish Youth Theatre was immensely important for me growing up - helping develop my writing, encouraging my creativity, and giving me a refuge from the debilitated, completely unsatisfactory situation I faced in mainstream education. Refusing them three years funding is cutting off the oxygen to one of the most important parts of the countrys arts scene. Shameful. And thats without going into the thinking behind successive right-wing governments, including Blairs, neglecting the importance of funding grassroots organisations in the arts, despite the arts being a MAJOR cornerstone of the British economy. Better together eh?
