Nigeria’s senior women national team landed safely in Windhoek on Thursday morning for the 9th edition of the African Women Championship in Namibia. The Super Falcons had departed the country 10pm on Wednesday night to South Africa from Lagos and arrived the capital city of Namibia after a 7-hour-flight. The six-time African title winners are the fifth country to arrive in Windhoek ahead of the eight-nation women international championship which kicks-off on Saturday, October 11, 2014 Nigeria is drawn alongside hosts Namibia, Cote dIvoire and Zambia in Group A. The Super Falcons will begin their campaign for their seventh African title against Cote dIvoire on October 11 by 7pm Nigerian time. The competition will have the top three teams secure qualification for the 2015 Fifa Women’s World Cup in Canada.
