Night Drive Video PA110142 From the very start you will notice how dark it is outside of my windscreen. This was a highway drive to the east coast on the Vijaywada Highway. The highway itself is well maintained and if the driver remains alert to the environmental dangers can maintain a fairly good speed. This video throws some light and justifies my article “Killers on the Road at Night”. If you haven’t read it please do as it is one of the first articles I wrote after travelling on the highways at night and early mornings. This live recording is from a camera placed on my dash board therefore one can easily assume that the camera can only see and record what my eyes can see on the road ahead. Even though this is a four lane traffic zone (two up two down) you can still see how badly the high beam from an oncoming car hampers your vision, and momentarily you are driving blindly until the high beam passes you. You have got examples of an auto without tail lights in front of me and a couple of other vehicles without “tail lights”. My basic purpose of uploading this video is to get HTP to start enforcing the “Lighting Regulation” on vehicles particularly on Highways where it does not cost HTP any extra to enforce “Tail Lights” with so many check posts and patrol vehicles already plying our roads. In fact the police vehicles themselves do not have proper tail lights, which must be seen to by the authorities as a priority. If the police drivers are taught to check their own vehicles lights before starting on their duty and are made to understand the importance and dangers involved without proper vehicle lights then they will be able to enforce it. (If they are ignorant how can they enforce it). Hope some action will be forthcoming.
