Nikki is off to work at the restaurant, but for how long is the question, with at least the JR trains planning to cease service at 4 p.m. because of the approach of Typhoon 19. We are on the Kintetsu line, which will probably maintain service longer. There was some rain and wind in the night, but it had stopped raining before I went out to buy extra groceries, just in case. Better safe than sorry, to be sure, but the typhoon is still far away and unlikely to come to our area until sometime tonight, so one wonders how necessary much of this is. At least, with it being a national holiday for Sports/Health Day, for today schools dont have to worry about having classes or timing to send children home. This is the week of midterm exams at Osaka Jogakuin, so at the end of last week alternative schedules were drawn up in case of gale or storm warnings continuing into tomorrow. In the meantime, I can find plenty to keep me busy at home, and I keep praying that the typhoon will change course and decrease in power so that it wont cause further suffering in this disaster prone land. Stay safe, everyone!
