Nirmal Kumar Srivastavaposted toONGC Senior Citizens Options for this story Simplification & Modification of Claim Procedure Asha Kiran We met CMD on 5th Jan 2014 at Mumbai and made several suggestions for Asha Kiran Scheme so as to cover the majority of retirees upto 2006.He agreed to most of the suggestions including the changes in the claim form to make it simpler. He is not in favour of attaching various documents like copy of PAN Card, Crossed Cheque ( As long as data is available in SAP),PAN Details of Spouses, Doctors Certificate or any other certificate except the self certificate and certificates required for special claims. We also reminded him regarding change in Income Certificate in the light of what has been agreed by and conveyed to us in presence of DHR during last years meeting .CMD was very positive and clear that all the changes which does not require going for a board meeting can be carried out to simply the claim procedure which can accommodate maximum numbers of targeted beneficiaries .He was also in favour of inclusion of a non employment certificate so that all those employed with other pvt. Companies and earning should be kept out of the scheme. A. In the light of above discussions we suggest the following modification in the claim form to cover larger numbers of eligible retirees within the guidelines –a copy of modified claim form alongwith self certificate are attached herewith to make the claim procedure simplified. B. We can include some more items in the list for claim within the overall ceiling of Rs2 Lakhs • Since all the targeted beneficiaries are between 68 to 90 years old and most of them are not in a position to travel by public transport like buses ,local trains etc . due to fragile health condition/ orthopedic problems. They have to travel long distances for medical reference, hospital OPD ,pathological tests, consultation and make frequent visits to SEC for various claims etc.In view of this a new item No.8 is proposed to mitigate hardship. Based on the place of residence the following rates are suggested: Commutation expenditure: Metro Cities 50,000 A&B Class Cities 40,000 All other Places 30,000 • In item no. 1 we may add one more item 1(c ): 1 (c ) Routine maintenance of dwelling unit once in 3 years Rs 50,000 Once we have put an overall ceiling of Rs 2 Lakhs in a Financial Year we may completely do away with item wise ceilings and remove the existing ceilings against item nos 3,4 &5 (Nirmal Kumar) Gen.Secretary, All India ONGC Ex Employees Welfare Association,Mumbai last Sunday Like Comment .
