No Spark is Ever To Little!!! Love John I love your site and wanted to share my own little spark I work as a manager for a nationally owned auto care company. One day a gentleman came in and just wanted an inspection done on his vehicle in order to see what work needed to done. We all noticed the vehicle was very old and not in very good shape. We did the inspection and gave him the list of things needed to repair his car which was a significant amount of work. We got the impression he didnt have much and lived in his car, he simply said thank you paid the $10 for the inspection and left. A few days later he showed back up wanting his alignment checked for free (a service we regularly offer) because he had done some of the work we suggested. While waiting for his car to go in he was visiting with another customer in the waiting area. We heard him tell her that he was in fact living out of his car, had just gotten out of the hospital after 4 days due to a stroke and was trying to ensure he had enough gas to make it until his disability check came in which was a couple weeks away and we were in the middle of a snow storm (in GA)! Myself and another manager overhead this conversation so we aligned his car for free ($90 service) which was very badly needed and when the technician test drove his car after the service he happened to end up at a gas station where we filled his gas tank! (out of our pocket not the business) I simply put a post-it on the gas gauge that said full. I checked him out and explained that we aligned his car at no charge and he was beyond grateful! Then he went to his car, I was hoping he would just drive off but he came back in and gave me a big hug! Made my night!:)
