No lessons learned by German Social-democrats on the fall of USSR. Its really a twisted logic to suggest keeping alive dictatorship, which works against people in Russia and entire Europe, because of fearing the chaos that will follow its downfall. If history taught us something, it is that Russia, as all other empires, will fall apart anyway. Pumping steroids into Putins regime through concessions - whether you call it face saving or avoiding cornering of Putin - only prolongs this process and increases dramatically its casualties. British, French, Spanish, German and Portuguese empires all had to fall apart and loose most of its territories to pave the way for modern and democratic UK, France, Spain, Germany and Portugal. Russian empire is no exception. The only right strategy is to acknowledge and start managing its downfall that we all are now witnessing. news.yahoo/russia-may-face-chaos-extra-sanctions-imposed-germany-140023551.html
