No matter which nation or culture, we believe in, and support - TopicsExpress

No matter which nation or culture, we believe in, and support peaceful protests and negotiations. The freedom to express one’s opinion is one of the most important modern human rights, and we believe it is one of the fundamental privileges which must be upheld at all times. With the recent events in Turkey, these rights are pushed to the limit with the excessive use of tear gas, water cannons and rubber bullets. Many people, including students, have been heavily injured during these protests. We would like to wish a fast recovery to all those injured in the protests, and hope that no more get injured in the following days to come. Unfortunately, a few students have also lost their lives. For these few, we can only express our deep condolences. We can show nothing but great appreciation and gratitude towards people who stand up for their nation. In addition, we hope for a quick release of all international journalists, including CBC reporters Sasa Petricic and Derek Stoffel. With this, although somewhat late due to the sheer shock in which all of us have been witnessing these events, we thought it was time to post some articles regarding the protests in Turkey. nytimes/2013/06/12/world/europe/disputed-square-in-istanbul-turkey.html?ref=world
