No matter who does the genital cutting of the infant, there will be many risks to the child. Potential infections, hemorrhage and botches aside (all very common occurrences after competently performed circumcisions), all circumcisions cause pain, trauma and lifelong harm. Foreskin has many functions and is supposed to be there, for life. Most of the worlds males have their whole, normal (intact/uncircumcised) penises and they are just fine.
