No-one in the world can make a low impedance pickup without using a matching transformer to get the output voltage needed. Many designs of preamps failed because noise parameters were not met. Noise in the Langcaster preamps is minimised by using only a few microamps of current in the first stage. The whole preamp uses less than a thousandth of an amp to run. The output buffers can drive loads of only a hundred ohms or so. This means that long leads can be used without compromising the top end response. Clarity is superb as you can hear. Coupled with an on-board balanced overdrive stage with variable gain, this guitar can deliver amazing sounds with heaps of sustain.
