No stranger to controversy (see BUG JACK BARRON) Norman Spinrad - TopicsExpress

No stranger to controversy (see BUG JACK BARRON) Norman Spinrad wrote this scathing parody of sword-&-sorcery as being inherently fascistic in his novel, THE IRON DREAM. An alternate world work, the book is actually a novel within a novel, the story comprising of American immigrant and struggling pulp wriiter, Adolf Hitler, whoose book, LORD OF THE SWASTIKA, is seeing reprint here after his death. The main narrative is foreworded by Homer Whipple and gives an insight into Hitlers struggling pulp career. Most hilariously, the back cover blurb on this edition has Michael Moorcock praising Hitler as a man worthy to stand beside other such fantasy greats as Tolkein and C.S. Lewis.
