Nomsa Mdlalose – South Africa Nomsa Mdlalose is a professional storyteller, storytelling consultant and a sessional lecturer. She has been in the field of storytelling for over twenty years. Her storytelling and linguistic experiences and expertise have afforded her opportunities to teach storytelling, run workshops and write stories for different communities, as well as to lecture African linguistics and African oral and written literature at the University of Witwatersrand (Wits) and the University of Johannesburg respectively. While she was still a Carnegie Equity Scholar in Residence at Wits University in 2007, after graduating with a Masters in Storytelling at East Tennessee University, United States, Mdlalose initiated a storytelling seminar at Wits writing centre. In 2010, this same seminar produced a draft copy of a storytelling curriculum for higher learning. She is the founder of the storytelling organisation called Kwesukela Storytelling Academy, which started in 2005. Mdlalose is married and practices Buddhism.
